Terms of Service

Public terms for using READL.

Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using READL, you agree to these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, do not use the service.

Description of Service

READL is a digital reading platform for free books, uploaded documents, notes, translations, AI chat, text-to-speech, audiobook creation, reading plans, and reading statistics.

User Responsibilities

You are responsible for your account, your uploaded content, and ensuring that you have the rights to upload, process, convert, share, or publish any material you use with READL. You may not upload content obtained by circumventing DRM or other technological protection measures.

AI Services

READL provides AI-powered features for reading, chat, translation, notes, text-to-speech, and audiobooks. By using an AI feature on a document, you warrant that you hold the rights necessary for that use; purchasing an ebook does not by itself grant the right to create audiobooks, translations, or other derivative works. AI output may be incomplete or inaccurate, and you are responsible for verifying important information.

Copyright Complaints

READL responds to notices of alleged copyright infringement in accordance with applicable law. Rights holders may send notices to copyright@READL.ai. Upon a valid notice we remove the identified material and any artifacts derived from it, and we terminate the accounts of repeat infringers. You agree to indemnify READL for claims arising from content you upload or process without the necessary rights.

Free Book Sources

READL may provide access to public or open-license content from sources such as Project Gutenberg, Standard Ebooks, OpenStax, Internet Archive, and arXiv. You must comply with each source's license terms.

Payments and Credits

Some features may use credits or paid services. Prices and estimated costs are shown before purchase or generation where applicable. Purchased credits are non-refundable except where required by law.

Governing Law

These Terms of Service are governed by the laws of the Netherlands.
